“The Kashmir Files”: Vivek Agnihotri’s new Eye-Opener reveals the Battle of the Kashmiris

After releasing the gripping movie The Tashkent Files, Vivek Agnihotri come with the new show The Kashmir Files. Makers have recently dropped the trailer of the show. He also shared a link on his Instagram handle.

The story of the movie is based on the true stories that reflect the Kashmir genocide victims. It also gave such guidance with a glimpse of the terror, confusion, and panic as consumed  Kashmir at that time. This short trailer will definitely take you on the roller-coaster of the emotions as surfaced at the time of the tragic incident.

The Kashmir Files: Plot


The story of the film revolves around the curfew situation in Kashmir and also reveals the people’s reaction to it. It depicts the condition of Kashmiri Pandits who are feeling helpless. It exposes the exact tense and pressure condition and everyone is demanding justice. This film also reveals Kashmir in the middle of the civil and communal situations along with Kashmir Pandits hoping to get relief and peace. It contains such intellectual kinds. The conflicts among who is right, the protestors become demanding  ‘azaadi’ and have the locals who also have left bleeding into the streets.

The film also reveals that 100,000 of an estimated Kashmiri Pandit population of 140,000 left the valley between February and March 1990 and within 2011 more of them left the valley and now there are around 3,000 families staying in the valley.

The Kashmir Files: Trailer Details

This three-minute and thirty-second trailer take the viewers to the Kashmiri Hindus who are escaping the union territory in the early 1990s as a result of the Kashmir insurgency. It also covers the gruesome bloodshed that set to occur while the exodus like the plight of the Hindus forced to flee their homeland.

It opens with the protests against the releasing Kashmiris belonging to the shackle that has been enslaved from the tremendous injustice on the Kashmiri Pandits. In this film the actor, Chinmay Mandlekar claims about the killing of 25 people and that he will not stop whether he has to kill his own brother and mother.

The trailer depicts the political uprising in the territory as a consequence of the exodus and the murder of Kashmiri Hindus who protest on them and deny to eave their homes and motherland.

The Kashmir Files: Cast

The film features  Pallavi Joshi, Prakashj Belavadi, Anupam Kher and Mithun Chkravarty. There are also other acclaimed names just as Darshan Kumar, Bhasha Sumbalki, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Atul Srivastava, and Prithviraj Sarnaik. This movie has been produced by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Agnihotri.

The maker Vivek Agnihotri said, “Bringing the story of Kashmir Genocide to the big screen is no easy feat and has to be handled with a  great deal of sensitivity. The  film  promises to be an eye-opener and  with a talented  ensemble  cast, audiences  can  revisit this incident in Indian  history through this raw and real narrative.”|

Pallavi Joshi also added,” A movie is good as its script and with The Kashmir Files audiences can actually feel and endure the emotions that the characters go through. As actors, everyone  on the team completely got under the skin  o0f their characters and  committed to telling  this shocking and saddening story.”

The Kashmir Files: Release Date

This film will release on 11th March 2022 only on Zee Studios.
