Jamshedpur FC defeated the reigning champions of the ISL, Mumbai City FC 3-2 with a late penalty sealing the win. Here are the three key talking points from the game.

Penalty fest

Three penalties were given during the game, with Mumbai City FC earning two chances to score from the spot. Igor Angulo, their top scorer, took the first one but was denied by a remarkable effort from TP Rehenesh. The JFC keeper pulled off an incredible double save to keep his side in the game.

Later in the game, Diego Mauricio would convert his chance from the spot to level things up. But, Greg Stewart earned one for Jamshedpur FC in the 94th minute and put it away to earn all three points from the game.

Second-half comeback not enough

Jamshedpur FC mounted an intense first half performance against the defending champions. And as a reward, they were 2-0 up by the time the two teams left the pitch for half time.

The Islanders managed to equalise in the second half, but made a final mistake to give the men of steel a penalty. And they were punished for it, especially after failing to convert their own chance.

Title race on for Jamshedpur FC

Jamshedpur FC’s three points send them up to third place. They are only one point behind the league leaders Hyderabad FC, and have an extra game to play. As a result, they could find themselves on the top of the table if they are able to make the most of their opportunities.
