The IPL Auction 2022 was held today in Bengaluru and is the grandest IPL auction in the entire history of IPL.

IPL Auction 2022 : List of players snapped by franchises

  • Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought Chahar for INR 14 crore.
  • On the other hand, Ishan Kishan was the most expensive buy for a record of 15.25 crore by Mumbai Indians.
  • Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bought Chahar for INR 14 crore.
  • PBKS buy uncapped Shahrukh Khan for 9 cr.
  • SRH pick uncapped Tripathi, Gujarat pick Tewatia.
  • Prasidh Krishna and Lockie Ferguson bagged 10 crores each. The former one is going to RR and the later one to LSG.
  • Josh Hazlewood was bought by RCB for 7.75 crore.
  • Shardul Thakur also got an expensive amount as DC bought him for INR 10.75 crore.
  • Kuldeep Yadav was the first one to be picked as DC bought him for 2 cr.
  • The next spinners were Rahul Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal who got purchased for Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals .
  • Sun Risers Hyderabad bought Abhishek Sharma for 6.5 crores and Rahul Tripathi for 8.75 crore
  • Gujarat Titans bought Rahul Tewatia for INR 9 crore.
  • Deepak Hooda was sold at 5.75 Crores to Lucknow Supergiants in the IPL auction 2022.
  •  Harhsal Patel bagged a huge money as he was sold to RCB for 10.75 Crores.
  • Dwayne Bravo had a reunion with CSK for 4.4 Crores.
  • Nitish Rana went back to KKR for INR 8 Crores.
  •  Jason Holder was snapped by Lucknow Supergiants for 8.75 Crores in the IPL auction 2022.
  • Manish Pandey was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for 4.6 Crores.
  • Shimron Hetmeyer was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 8.5 Crores and Robin Uthappa was bought by Chennai Super Kings for 2 Crores. 
  • Jason Roy was bought by 2 Crores by Gujarat Titans.
  • Devdutt Padikkal was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for 7.75 Crores.
  • KKR bought back Pat Cummins but for almost a 50 per cent pay cut at 7.25 Crores. 
  •  Punjab Kings bought Shikhar Dhawan for 8. 25 Crores.
  • Rajasthan Royals got Ravichandran Ashwin for 5 Crores. 
  • Lucknow Supergiants added Quinton de Kock for 6.25 Crores 

The 10 franchises have had an overall budget of 550 Crores that were to be spent on the players. Before the mega auction, BCCI had set some rules for all the franchises. Each of the 10 teams was allocated with a pool of INR 90 Crores to formulate their squads.

As per rules, the existing teams could retain a maximum of 4 players ahead of the auction each team retaining not more than 3 Indian players and not more than 2 Overseas players. BCCI had allowed the 2 new teams to retain 3 players from the list of released players by the 8 old teams with each of the 2 new teams not being allowed to retain a maximum of 2 Indian Players and 1 Overseas player.
