PVR celebrates National Pizza Day with a week-long Pizza Festival

National, February 9, 2022: This National Pizza Day, PVR pays tribute to the growing patronage of its Pizza lovers with a week-long Pizza Festival from 9th to 16th February. Ever since the brand launched its Thin Crust Pizza in 2014, it has carved out its success story making it the top 5 selling food items under the ‘Eats’ category. Pizza has made rapid progress in the PVR F&B portfolio increasing its share consistently year on year introducing new types, thus retaining its freshness and newness.

PVR serves an Italian range of pizza with authentic recipes using the best ingredients. While the vegetarian menu  include options like FUNGHI e BABY SPINACI DELLA PIZZA,  ASPARAGI FUNGHI e CILIEGIA POMODORO,  RUCOLA e POMODORI SECCHI, TRE FORMAGGIO,  ORTOLANA, the non-vegetarian flavor has SALAME di POLLO and LA PIZZA UOVO. India is a vast country where tastes/preferences vary every 20 km and PVR is a national cinema chain present in 22 states/UTs. In order to keep regional preferences in mind, pizzas are customized to suit local taste buds, hence remaining an adorable food item that can be enjoyed in a cinema setting due to ease of consumption.

Getting ready to welcome consumers back after a brief interval post the third wave, Mr. Gautam Dutta, CEO, PVR Limited, said, “We believe in enriching the entire experience as a whole and with ambience, technology, food and comfort, it’s not just about the film anymore. Pizza is believed to have originated in the city of Naples, Italy in the late 1700s. The dish gained popularity outside of Naples thanks to global migration and economic development before finding its second home in the United States.  February 9th– National Pizza Day is essentially a celebration of pizza and its journey. Pizza lovers and popular pizzerias have been celebrating this day since 2000.
