After a game full of chances, ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC had to settle for a point each, playing out a 1-1 draw. Here are the three key talking points from the entertaining fixture.
Mohammad Nawaz saves the day for Mumbai City FC
The Mumbai City FC goalkeeper was called into action on several occasions and did extremely well to keep ATK Mohun Bagan out. He was only beaten once by David Williams in the ninth minute but was brilliant thereafter. He has been key for the Islanders after their defence collapsed in the middle of the season, and continues to prove himself by limiting further damage.
Nothing to separate the two teams
After 90 minutes, it is quite difficult to see how the two teams could not find the back of the net one more time to score a winner. There was no shortage of chances on either end and the second encounter between them this season goes down as a draw.
How the times have changed
During the early stage of the season, it seemed certain that Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan would be competing for the ISL title this season. However, they find themselves in the middle of the table right now.
Although they have games in hand, the certainty with which they were competing for the title is now lacking. The rollercoaster season continues to surprise us, and it wouldn’t be out of the world to see the two teams make a comeback even this late into the season.
