When compared with Zen3 Cezanne based Ryzen 9 5900HX, this AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX is 12% and 33% faster respectively, which is a great sign. However, Intel is far ahead in terms of performance as the Alder Lake-P series mobile processors with up to 14 cores do give even better scores, maybe at the cost of more heating as AMD promises more efficiency but it is too early to judge.

When compared this score against the multiple leaked scores of the upcoming flagship from Intel – the Core i9-12900H, you see the Intel CPU is 7% to 21% faster in single-core and 37% to 42% faster in multi-core. Thanks to more cores, higher boost clocks and IPC gains, Intel is leading in both single-core and multi-core.

For more detailed insights we do not have to wait much longer as these new AMD powered laptops will be coming to the market next month. However, the fight between AMD and Intel in the laptop space will be a thing to watch out, also it will be interesting to see how OEMs cool these beefier chips and how do they perform in the real world.
