Marko Lazetic to join AC Milan from Red Star for €5m

AC Milan are all set to complete the signing of Serbian striker Marko Lazetic from Red Star Belgrade. The 18-year-old came through the Red Star academy and is set to make the switch to Milan within the upcoming days.

The Serie A club will be paying €5 million for a permanent transfer and will also owe Red Star a percentage of any future sale. The deal is expected to be completed this week.

Marko Lazetic to join AC Milan: Director confirms

Here is what Red Star Belgrade director Zvezdan Terzić had to say about Marko Lazetic and his move away:

“There has been the interest of big clubs for Lazetić, we have had offers from Zenit, Salzburg and Fiorentina. These are indications that repay the huge investments in our youth sector, which cost us three million euros a year.

“The transfer of Lazetic to Milan is an indication of the good work done over the years. Yesterday we agreed everything with Milan, now I expect Lazetic to negotiate his conditions through his agents and sign the contracts.”

The teenage striker has started to feature for the Serbia U19 team, earning 5 caps since making his debut in 2021 and scoring one goal so far.

Milan will make room for Lazetic by terminating the loan deal of Pietro Pellegri, who has only made six Serie A appearances this season. He will be allowed to join fellow Serie A club Torino on loan from parent club Monaco.
