On Wednesday, Amazon Prime Video announced the title of its series multi-season Lord of Rings.

Amazon Prime‘s The Lord of the Rings has made a strong name for itself. It was announced on Wednesday that the drama is going to have its debut on 2nd September 2022, the episodes will be streaming weekly on the streaming device.

Producers of the show J.D Payne and Patrick McKay stated “the series will unite all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age,” including the making of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the tale of Numenor and the last alliance of Elves and Men.

Amazon revealed the title by releasing a video in which the name’s letters are created in metal at a foundry. The descriptive text on the video read “The video opens on the camera moving through what appears to be canyons filled with mist. Cut to fire coming down the canyon, a river of molten lava visible below it. As the voiceover begins, the camera pulls back to reveal we are not in a canyon and the molten substance begins to fill up what might be symbols or letters. A wave of water flows over it, cooling it as steam is released. The molten substance darkens and hardens, to reveal it is some sort of metal with symbols on the side of it. The camera pulls back through the mists to reveal the words ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ on a wood background.”

What is the backdrop of the series?

The series is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R Tolkien’s wrote The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit fantasy-adventure novels. New characters, as well as familiar characters, will be seen on the show. The shooting has been completed in New Zealand for the multi-season series in August 2021. Earlier, Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings and prequel “The Hobbit” have been filmed here as well.
