Intel has announced the official Alder Lake mobile processors and their entire lineup consist of 14 Alder Lake P-Series processors and 14 U-series processors.

These new CPUs will combine hybrid cores which comprise Golden Cove (P-Cores) and Gracemont (E-Cores) on a 10nm ESF (Enhanced Super Fin) process node. This might sound a bit confusing but Intel has 8 H-series chips which also fall in line with their Alder Lake P-series drawing 45W TDP.

As you see the Intel Core i9-12900HK and Core i9-12900H are the top-end SKUs with 14 cores (6 P-cores and 8 E-cores) while boosting up to 5.0 GHz on Performance cores and also will come with a 45W base along with 115W Maximum Turbo Power.

Also, the Core i7s rock 14 cores and that is really good news for gamers or content creators while the Core i5s now offer you a whopping 12 cores, though only 4 of them being Performance cores anyhow.

The P-series SKUs that draw 28W TDP makes another lineup of products and mac out at Core i7-1280P with up to 14 cores and 20 threads. These efficient yet performing P-series will be a favourite for a lot of creative focussed laptop which doesn’t need boatloads of power but can give a great performance.

Now there are 14 U-series low TDP based Alder Lake processors as well but maxes out with only 2 Performance cores and 8 of them being Efficiency cores. So, you get up to 10 cores and 12 threads at max, interestingly, there are even low-power parts that will also include 5-core Pentium and Celeron parts.

Based on the Intel 7 process, new 12th Gen H-series processors offer:

  • Up to 5 GHz frequencies, 14 cores (6 P-cores and 8 E-cores) and 20 threads that give the 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900HK the crown as the fastest mobile processor. It delivers performance leadership over Intel’s previous generation and the competition.
  • The performance extends for unparalleled gaming experiences across top gaming titles and content creation tools. The new 12th Gen Intel Core H-series is the world’s best mobile gaming platform, delivering up to 28% faster gaming than the previous mobile gaming leader in the market: the Intel Core i9-11980HK. 12th Gen Intel Core H-series is more than up to the task for content creators. For example, users may see up to 43% higher performance in 3D rendering gen-over-gen.

  • Broad memory support for DDR5/LPDDR5 and DDR4/LPDDR4 modules up to 4800 MT/s – a first in the industry for H-series mobile processors.
  • Nearly three times faster connectivity on exclusive high-speed channels without legacy Wi-Fi interference. Using integrated Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) gives users the freedom to work and learn from home and relax with smooth, high-quality streaming.
  • Thunderbolt™ 4 support that delivers transfer speeds up to 40Gbps and PC connectivity to multiple 4K monitors and accessories.

These Alder Lake processors will also support Intel® Iris® Xe integrated graphics, Intel is confident that their new chips will handle simultaneous everyday workloads, business productivity and even gaming in full high definition (FHD).
