At the 2022 International Consumer Electronics Show, TCL®, one of the world’s best-selling and leading technology firms, presented new products and discussed advancements that will bring unique functionality for an upgraded entertainment experience (CES).

TCL talked about some of the new technology they’re working on, such as the first dynamic video motion ecosystem, additional mini-LED TVs, and high-performance gaming features. TCL’s North American leadership and portfolio of award-winning televisions are being bolstered by these new additions.

TCL’s XL Collection – a unique selection of TVs exceeding 80 inches – is especially focused on making the biggest screen TVs available to more customers with blockbuster movie premiers in homes in the United States on the same day as their theatrical release “that deliver larger-than-life entertainment with a variety of features to fit any home theatre with a big screen TCL will sell the series’ newest and largest model, with a 98-inch display “A television powered by QLED is now available at a variety of stores. TCL keeps its promise to deliver excellent visual performance and big-screen immersion at an affordable price range, starting at under $8,000.

“As TCL continues to drive into increasingly larger screen sizes with its advanced panel production facilities, the TCL team must ensure that we’re delivering world-class products with the performance levels that our users truly want in their family room.  Here in North America, TVs 60″ and larger were one-quarter of all TVs sold in 2021 and those big screens were just over half of all TV sales revenue last year,” said Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL North America.

“Now you don’t have to leave the house to enjoy blockbuster movies, which is a huge shift for home entertainment, so to enjoy that same truly immersive experience of the cinema screen under your roof, we’re offering bigger, more powerful TVs. By utilizing our vertical integration advantages in the television space to continue innovating and producing, TCL has plans for bringing mini-LED powered displays across all-new high-performance sets in North America and is well poised for another great year in the television business.”

TCL has been a forerunner in producing increased contrast using mini-LED backlight technology, in addition to being a leader in larger screen sizes. Three years ago, TCL launched the world’s first mini-LED backlight TV in North America, with tens of thousands of micro-meter class mini-LEDs stacked behind the LCD to give pure precise contrast and beautifully smooth luminance. TCL then released its second generation of mini-LED backlight TVs, which were included in the 6-Series series of mainstream performance televisions.

The third generation of mini-LED is now available on the XL Collection’s flagship TV, the 85-inch 8K QLED X925pro with OD Zero mini-LED backlight technology. With an ultra-thin profile of under 10 millimeters, the X9 delivers flawlessly smooth brightness and precision contrast for dramatic image depth, dazzling in even the brightest environments.

With breakthrough technologies in TV models now in development, TCL will elevate the home theatre experience to a whole new level this year. TCL is continuing to strengthen the fundamentals of a dramatic image – color, contrast, and clarity – by building on its critically praised picture performance. TCL provides more color with Quantum Dot technology and wide color standards, more contrast with mini-LED backlight technology and Contrast Control ZonesTM, and more clarity with new high dynamic range standards and display resolution rising from 4K to 8K, thanks to strategic partnerships.

Because the impact of exceptional motion performance has grown even more crucial as TCL TVs get bigger and brighter, TCL will continue to improve the quality of moving images. TCL is collaborating with Pixelworks and other entertainment giants to create and deploy a new motion ecosystem with a holistic approach, bringing the TrueCut Motion eco-power systems and innovation to TCL’s high-performance TV models for the first time in North America. TrueCut Motion is an end-to-end solution that comprises a new content delivery format as well as a device certification scheme to ensure a consistent filmmaker-approved output.

Content makers now have a new tool to dynamically use motion to better convey style, immerse viewers in tales, and evoke emotion with TrueCut Motion. TrueCut Motion technology allows viewers to see this astonishing motion, presented exactly as the filmmaker intended, without having to fiddle with the TV remote. With the addition of TrueCut Motion, as well as technologies like 4K and HDR, viewers will be treated to a home theatre experience unlike any other.

The video game experience is additionally enhanced by TCL’s award-winning TV technology and visual quality. The latest game consoles and PC gaming setups with highly powerful graphics cards necessitate the largest, brightest, clearest, and quickest TVs, which TCL has consistently been able to meet year after year. TCL’s high-end gaming TVs already have Auto Game Mode for a more automatic and responsive gaming experience, Variable Refresh Rate to keep up with intense gameplay, and even HGiG mode for the utmost in HDR gaming performance.

TCL TV Entertainment Options

TCL’s best TVs presently offer 4K HDR gaming at 120Hz, but this year the sets will go from 120Hz to 144Hz for even smoother action and a faster game feel. Previously only available on a few high-end gaming monitors with a maximum screen size of 32 inches, serious gamers will want to move from a small gaming monitor to something more powerful now that TCL’s high-performance TVs will support 4K at 144Hz.

TCL’s software partners are working just as hard to provide an entertainment experience that matches the TV’s capabilities, while TCL focuses on the hardware. TCL applies the same performance vs. value proposition mix that has made the brand successful with its 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-Series televisions by taking an OS-balanced approach, allowing users to select how they want to interact with their TV and content. As the streaming landscape evolves, customers will expect more options, which TCL’s platform-agnostic product offers can provide.

TCL released its Roku TVTM models in 2014, and their rapid growth rocked the consumer electronics industry. All TCL Roku TV models have a free Roku Mobile app with private listening, compatibility with the three major voice ecosystems, search across top streaming channels, and access to The Roku Channel and over 200 live TV channels, in addition to a simple and customized home screen. TCL continues to produce a full series of TCL Roku TVs, including the award-winning 6-Series and industry-leading 8-Series.

TCL also collaborated closely with Google to bring Google TVTM, the newest Smart TV experience, to market. TCL’s television collection has been enriched by new features such as hands-free voice control with Google Assistant, a content-first home screen, and unique ways to discover content. TCL is currently one of Google’s major TV partners in the world, selling more than 10 million Google TV and Android TVTM sets every year.
