Upcoming Intel NUC 12 Extreme spotted ahead of launch

Intel is all set to launch a wide range of 12th Gen SKUs at CES 2022 and also announce new products with these new CPUs. This includes their own NUC 12 Extreme mini Gaming PCs that have been spotted by HXL and what it looks like, it will feature a desktop variant of the Alder Lake series.

Last year in June, Intel formally announced their NUC 11 Extreme “Beast Canyon” PCs featuring up to an Intel Core i9-11900KB processor. Unsurprisingly, they skipped using their nightmare Rocket Lake-S desktop chips instead used renamed mobile Tiger Lake processor.

So, Intel will be using the efficient chips of its wide 12th Gen lineup in their upcoming NUC 12 Extreme mini Gaming PCs. Essentially, this means we could see up to 16 cores (8 P-cores, 8 E-cores), however, it’s a good sign as we know the Alder Lake-P processors are limited to 14 cores.

As per the leaker, the NUC 12 Extreme will also support NVMe PCIe Gen4 and DDR4 memory. We will also see a NUC 12 Enthusiast alongside the Extreme all using these new 12th processors and coming with discrete GPUs, possibly Intel’s own Arc Alchemist GPUs, we have to wait until tomorrow to know more regarding this.
