IPL 2022 Mega Auction: Top 10 cricketers whom all the franchises will be eyeing

IPL Mega Auction will be starting in mid-February and the teams have already made their targets. The new franchise, RPSG- backed Lucknow have made KL Rahul their skipper, on the other hand, CVC Capital Ahmedabad hasn’t reached a final decision. All the franchises have locked their targets.

Auctions are going to take place on February 12 and 13. The existing franchises have kept their best four players and currently, they are planning for the Mega Auction.

1. Shahrukh Khan

Tamil Nadu’s M Shahrukh Khan’s consistent performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy made Punjab Kings regret their decision. The 10 franchises will be definitely eyeing him in the Mega Auction.

2. Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes had to miss IPL 2021 due to his injury. Rajasthan Royal didn’t retain him because of his availability issues but now that he’s back into the game, a lot of franchisees will be definitely bidding high for him.

3. Quinton De Kock

This player wasn’t retained by Mumbai Indians due to the four-player limit. he recently retired from Test cricket and is going to be on the wish list of various franchises.

4. David Warner

David Warner didn’t have a very good IPL edition in 2021. He didn’t get retained by SRH but he got his form back in T20 World Cup. He will be actually eyed by a lot of franchisees in the next season.

5. Mohammad Shami

Punjab kings didn’t retain Mohammad Shami but he had a spectacular performance in the test series against South Africa. He will remain one of the most wanted players in IPL 2022.

6. Ishan Kisan

Ishan Kisan is known is for his aggressive style of batting. He has been playing for Mumbai Indians since 2018. He had scored over 1000 runs in 45 matches, scored the highest against RCB in 2020 (99) runs. Though he didn’t get retained by the franchise still he is one of the top choices of every franchise.

7. Jonny Bairstow

Bairstow’s first appearance in IPL was in 2019 and he opened the innings with David Warner. He had made 445 runs at 10 innings at a strike rate of 157.24. He will definitely be a good player in any team he goes.

8. Rahul Tripathi

Rahul had a major role in KKR to qualify for the IPL 2021 final. He even had hit a six for Ashwin. Any franchise will go for Tripathi to get more runs into the team.

9. Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel wasn’t retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He took 32 wickets in 15 matches and was a big revelation in 2021. He is definitely going to be in the wish list of several teams.

10. Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan will be joining Lucknow Franchise as per rumours. He’s one of the best off-spinners having 93 wickets in 76 matches. He’s going to remain a top priority for several franchises.
