Let the bidding begin! Leeds winger Raphinha has been offered €50 million by Bayern Munich for his services

Raphinha, a winger for Leeds United, is in advanced talks with Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich has made a €50 million bid to Leeds United for the Brazil international, and a deal is nearing completion.

According to the media source, a deal is close to being reached. Raphinha joined Leeds from Rennes in 2020 and has since made 47 appearances for the Yorkshire club, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists. Leeds has a contract with the Brazilian that runs until 2024.

Raphinha in Demand

According to several sources, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have been linked with a transfer for Leeds United winger Raphinha. Since joining Leeds from Stade Rennais in 2020, the Brazil international has made an impression in the Premier League, scoring eight goals in 16 league games so far this season.

The 25-year-old has since earned a senior cap for his country, debuting in October and impressing with his technical skill and flair. And now, according to journalist Nicolo Schira, he is garnering interest from some of Europe’s best teams, with Bayern Munich reportedly interested in a potential trade.

The Bundesliga winners may lose attacker Kingsley Coman on a free transfer in 2023, potentially leaving them short on wide players. According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool is also keeping an eye on Raphinha. The Reds are looking at long-term offensive options, with Jarrod Bowen of West Ham also being mentioned.

It Would be Expensive

Bayern Munich’s January signings will not be made this season, according to Brazzo and Nagelsmann, and you can expect them to stick to their word. After all, with Covid-19 making a comeback in Europe and stadiums closing once more, being frugal is the order of the day.

Even if Covid wasn’t a concern, spending €50 million on any player would be a significant step forward for the team. Raphinha would become Bayern’s third most expensive signing, behind Leroy Sane and Lucas Hernandez, if he were to sign for that price. Only if Kingsley Coman left this winter for a fee significantly higher than Raphinha’s transfer fee could this happen.

Bayern does not usually conduct business like this; if a player is already performing well for the club, an extension is always the first option. Brazzo, on the other hand, has proved that when he sees a player he absolutely must have, he isn’t hesitant to spend large. Raphinha may be one of those players. We’ll just have to wait and see.
