Ousmane Dembele is set to sign a new Barcelona contract next week, and will take a pay cut on his current salary. The winger’s wages have been a problem, but that is now expected to be sorted out, with the club agreeing a lower package for him.

With Ferran Torres all set to join Barcelona, he will be a part of the new attack that Xavi is building with his team. The Frenchman has been publicly praised by Xavi on multiple occasions, and he seems ready to commit to a future at Camp Nou.

The lower wages agreed with Ousmane Dembele will also allow the board to cater to other problems such as signings in the January window, and contract renewals for the rest of the important players in the squad.

The Ousmane Dembele contract situation seems sorted out now

The player joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, for £135 million. He has since been held down by many injuries, which have prevented him from consistently performing. As a result, he looked set to leave after Barcelona found it difficult to give him the salary he wanted.

But, things seem to have changed now, according to Sport. Xavi has convinced Ousmane Dembele to extend his contract and continue to be a part of the club. Since returning from injury, he has been quite impressive on the pitch and has shown what he can bring to the team.

Dembele will sign a new five-year deal with Barcelona that will extend his stay at Camp Nou until 2026.
