Today in China, the iQOO mobile phone brand held a launch event where it unveiled two new smartphones. The iQOO Neo 5S, which comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, is the top-of-the-line model.
iQOO Neo 5S
The iQOO Neo 5S follows in the footsteps of the iQOO Neo family’s cool design style. The rear camera module is designed as a triple camera, with the sensors stacked vertically in the top left corner of the back panel and housed in a rectangular module.
The iQOO Neo 5S has a 6.62-inch LCD screen with a hole punch opening in the front for the 16-megapixel selfie camera. The display has a 120Hz high refresh rate, 100% P3 color gamut coverage, 16,000-level brightness adjustment, HDR10+, Eye Care Display, and Seamless certification.
The flagship model is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 processor and 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Onboard storage options include 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1. The premium smartphone is reported to have a separate display chip Pro that can share half of the GPU’s rendering work during gaming sessions, assuring a high-frame gaming experience while also lowering power consumption. This not only saves battery but also allows the phone to run smoothly while gaming.
It delivers a unique MEMC motion computation and compensation technology with the help of this independent display chip Pro. The low frame game may be extended to 120 frames using frame insertion technology, and it can also ensure a long-term stable high frame rate picture. According to official data, playing “Honor of Kings” at 120 fps for 2 hours in a stable frame is possible.
The iQOO Neo 5S is currently available for pre-order and will be available for purchase on December 24. The 8GB+128GB version costs 2699 yuan ($423), the 8GB+256GB version costs 2899 yuan ($455), and the 12GB+256GB version costs 3199 yuan ($501).
iQOO Neo 5 SE
Aside from the flagship Neo 5S, iQOO also announced the iQOO Neo 5 SE, a premium mid-range model. The device has a similar design to the high-end Neo 5S, but it is more affordable, starting at RMB 2,199 (US$345).
The iQOO Neo 5 SE has a 6.67-inch LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, and a maximum brightness of 650nits. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor powers the device. The smartphone also has a big 4500mAh battery that enables 55W fast charging.
A triple camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main shooter, an 8MP lens, and a 2MP depth sensor, is used for optics. A 16MP front camera is available for selfies. The Neo 5 SE also includes three-dimensional dual speakers, linear motors, 4D gaming vibration, and a premium full-link audio experience. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the phone runs iQOO’s origins, which is based on Android 11.
The iQOO Neo5 SE will officially go on sale from December 28 but is presently on presale.
