12th Gen Intel Alder Lake CPUs are one of the most promising CPUs ever by Intel in years now and finally, they are able to end AMD’s dominance. The new 65W based efficient Alder Lake-S desktop counterparts will be launching soon as their announcement is headed to CES 2022.

In the meantime, a lot of these upcoming 12th Gen SKUs have started to leak and we have seen quite a lot of benchmarks earlier. However, now, we have a new CPU-Z benchmark leak, thanks to @TUM_APISAK for spotting the upcoming budget Core i5-12400F running on an upcoming B660M motherboard along with DDR4 RAM.

As you see in the CPU-Z benchmark charts, the Intel Core i5-12400F is way ahead in single-threaded performance, scoring 702 points comfortably beating the Ryzen 5 5600X which on average has a score of 624 points. Unsurprisingly, the Core i5’s score is even better than last year’s Ryzen 9 5900X for single-thread and for multi-threading tests, it scores 4988 points.

In our Ryzen 5 5600X review, we saw the CPU scoring 645.1 points for the single-thread test and multi-core scores of 5000.3 points. While the upcoming Intel Core i5-12400F is able to beat the AMD processor, it just falls in line with the multi-core performance of the Ryzen 5 5600X.

Also, remember that the Intel Core i5-12400F, which is already been sold in Peru ahead of its release, lacks any efficiency cores that means this is a direct 6 performance cores war against the Ryzen 5 5600X. It is rumoured the CPU will have pricing of around $200, which makes it a more lucrative option for gamers undoubtedly.
