And the Title of Worst company of 2021 goes to Facebook

According to a new survey, Facebook is the ‘worst company of 2021.’ In the year 2021, the company changed its name to Meta and was surrounded by controversy. To learn more about the survey, scroll down.

Yahoo Finance conducts an annual survey to determine the best and worst companies. Microsoft was named the best company in 2021, while Facebook was named the worst. Over a thousand people were polled in the survey, and Facebook received 50% more votes for the category than Alibaba. The people involved have a “litany of complaints” against Facebook, which is now known as Meta. Censorship, Instagram’s impact on mental health, and privacy are among the issues raised.

While the survey’s findings were not favourable to Facebook, 30 percent of respondents believed the corporation might “redeem itself.” Facebook has changed its name to Meta, and Mark Zuckerberg has declared that this is the beginning of a new trajectory for the company.

One respondent said Facebook could redeem itself by acknowledging and apologizing for what it did and donating a “sizable amount” of its profits for a foundation to help reverse its harm. While some people saw the Meta rebrand as a cynical attempt to change the conversation… others were excited by the potential of a new direction that could a) be interesting and b) something different from the ageing social media model.

Over the year, Facebook has been chastised for its handling of user data. Apple’s App Tracking Transparency, which provided customers control over being tracked across apps and services, was contested by the firm. While Apple harmed the company’s growth, customers should have the option of being followed across apps and websites.
