Bright Enobakhare up for a potential return to East Bengal

Former East Bengal striker Bright Enobakhare is looking to return to the ISL, and rejoin the Red and Gold club in the winter transfer window. He terminated his contract with Coventry in November and is currently without a club.

The Indian club is being rumoured as a potential destination for the Nigerian, especially since he had such a prolific first spell with them. Enobakhare was convinced to join the club in their debut campaign by former coach and Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.

How did Bright Enobakhare perform in his first spell?

Bright Enobakhare ended up scoring three goals and assisting one in twelve starts for East Bengal. His remarkable skill and ability in the ball impressed every single fan. Moreover, he became the spark in East Bengal’s attack that helped them earn 17 points in their first season.

Although the club wanted to renew his contract, their feud with Shree Cement prevented any signings. As a result, Enobakhare had to return to England to join Coventry. But, he is on the move once again as a free agent.

Why do East Bengal need him?

Under Jose Manuel Diaz, the club is struggling again and needs major improvements in the winter transfer window. According to the Bridge, Bright Enobakhare is currently in negotiations with East Bengal about the potential salary if he chooses to join the club.

The Nigeria U23 international has not yet decided on his future, but a move back to India would be a welcome addition to the team. It would also help East Bengal recover in the second half of the season.
