Here’s everything that’s coming out with Fortnite Chapter 3

Chapter 3 of Fortnite is now available, along with a new map, new skins including Spider-Man, and more. Seasons, events, skins, and possibly more marketing collaborations and crossovers than you can throw a pickaxe at are all on the way. We’ve gone over everything Fortnite Chapter 3 has to offer so you know what to expect before you start playing.

After a succession of dimension-shattering rocket launches swept everything into oblivion, Fortnite became a black hole for a day when Chapter 2 arrived. This is essentially a sneaky means of executing massive amounts of maintenance, which is required when switching to a new map, updating game features, and anything else Epic has in mind. The players were left floating in the ocean after the conclusion of Chapter 2.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his debut during The End, just as fans predicted. The full Chapter 2 finale can be viewed above.

If you want the short version, Jonesy has been rescued from the clutches of the Imagined Order and Dr. Sloane by the Foundation. Soon after, he removed his helmet, revealing his true identity as The Rock, though he is playing a character and not appearing as his real-life self.

Following that, the Foundation/Rock and his friends (including the Scientist) rescued several Fortnite players and led them underground. Shortly after, a flood washes players out into the ocean, where they witness the island flipping and revealing a brand new map. The Cube Queen was presumably defeated as well, as she can be seen and heard wailing in defeat as the island capsizes on her.

Battle Pass for Fortnite Chapter 3

It would be strange for Fortnite to not include a battle pass for the first season of Chapter 3, so of course, they have one prepared. The official Polish Fortnite YouTube channel was the first to post its trailer, and while it was quickly removed, players had already saved copies. Epic has now released an official trailer.

Yes, those are Spider-Man skins, as well as Gears of War characters Marcus Fenix and Kait Diaz (though it looks like Gears characters will be an item shop offering, not in the battle pass). It appears that the Foundation will also be available as a skin.

Sliding and web-swinging are two of the most significant gameplay changes coming to Fortnite Chapter 3.

The sliding mechanic appears to be similar to what you’d find in Apex Legends, and it’s ideal for traversing downhill while minimizing your hitbox.

Starting on December 11, players will be able to swing high in the sky using Spider-web-swinging Man’s gloves, which can be obtained in the same way as other items around the map. We don’t know how common those will be yet, but depending on how quickly you can swing around, they could be a game-changer.

So there will be at least two new movement mechanics in Chapter 3. There’s also a campsite where players can presumably heal and store items in between matches.

One significant change is that players will be able to earn battle pass XP in ways other than the battle royale mode. Normally, if you wanted to earn battle pass stars/XP, you had to play one of the standard battle royale modes or the 50 vs. 50 Team Rumble. This implies that you can earn XP in modes other than Creative and LTMs. That will be fantastic for players who want to earn higher-level skins but lack the interest or skill for intensely competitive multiplayer content.

Here are some additional gameplay changes in Fortnite Chapter 3:

  • New weapons and tools, including a Slurp Juice sprinkler that you can deploy around your teammates.
  • Some sort of “Victory Crown” that players can earn and possibly keep between matches.

“Guzzle Juice”

  • Wildlife animals return once again, including sharks, wolves, chickens, toads, boars, and crows.
  • The Quadcrusher ATV returns.
  • “Medmist Assist” healing item.
