Liverpool will only have to pay £20 million for Adama Traore

Liverpool is one of Europe’s most dangerous offensive sides, having scored more goals in the Premier League (39) than any other team so far this season, including five in the Carabao Cup and 15 in the Champions League. The Reds appear to have a chance to add another striking star to their team for a bargain price.

News about the Transfer Fee

Football Insider has revealed that Wolves could be willing to sell winger Adama Traore for about £20 million in the upcoming January transfer window. This has reportedly placed the Merseyside club on high alert, as they were linked with a bid for Traore during the previous summer transfer window but were turned down due to Wolves’ £50 million asking price.

Traore has made 145 appearances for Bruno Lage’s side across all competitions since signing from Championship club Middlesbrough during the 2018 summer transfer window for a rumored fee of £18 million. He has scored 10 goals and provided 18 assists in the process.

Traore, who has previously been described as “electric” by analyst Martin Keown, is yet to score or assist in the Premier League this season, but he has demonstrated his versatility as an offensive threat. Traore has 12 league outings under his belt and has an average of 1.4 shots per game and 1.2 crucial passes per game.

OptaJoe dubbed the 25-year-old winger a “bulldozer” in a post on their official Twitter account in June of last year after showing that Traore had drawn 21 cards in the opposition half thanks to his spectacular dribbling talents.

Current Situation for Liverpool

When you combine those qualities with the fact that Liverpool will be without two of their top goal scorers in January due to Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah’s participation in the upcoming AFCON tournament, Michael Edwards should jump at the chance to sign Traore for £20 million if Wolves are willing to sell him in January.

If this were to happen, Liverpool would be receiving not only quality and seasoned Premier League player, but also a player who, at his age, can improve and grow his game under Klopp over the next few years.

With his terrifying pace, insatiable desire to defeat opponents, and uncanny ability to create something out of nothing, he’d be a dream signing for the Reds at a time when they may be low on offensive alternatives.
