Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær reportedly held emergency talks with senior players yesterday morning. Among the players in the meeting were Bruno Fernandes, Ronaldo, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic.

The purpose of the meeting was to find a way to turn things around at this point in the season. Manchester United are currently in sixth place, three points behind Arsenal who are fifth.

The team recently shifted to a back three instead of a 4-2-3-1 formation, and they talked about the way things would work out in the new system. The manager spent the first few days on holiday, by flying back to Norway with his family before returning to train with the rest of the team.

Solskjær has been on the receiving end of a number of embarrassing results in recent weeks. First came the 5-0 defeat at Old Trafford against Liverpool, which was followed by the 2-0 defeat against Manchester City in the local derby.

Calls for the Norwegian to be sacked immediately have intensified over the last few weeks. But, Manchester United have maintained that Ole Gunnar Solskjær will not be sacked at this point in the season. The board has also denied being in talks with Zinedine Zidane over the job, according to the Athletic.

This weekend, Manchester United are up against Watford in the Premier League. Their next fixture is against Villarreal in the Champions League, and they will then face Chelsea and Arsenal. All these games will be crucial for Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and a good performance will be crucial to the Norwegian saving his job.
