Barcelona played out a 1-1 draw in their first game under interim manager Sergi Barjuan. The team is currently ninth in the table with 16 points from 11 games.
According to Esports 3, the players are not very happy with his comments after the game regarding the injuries.
“It is what it is,” he said
“Nothing more can be done. Ronald Koeman already said so.”
He did, however, have some words of praise for his players too.
“Looking ahead to Tuesday, we’ll try to pick the players up,” he added.
“We’ll make sure they know they’re a good group of players and that they need to believe in themselves.”
Barcelona have not started the season very positively. Their former manager, Ronald Koeman, was sacked after a 1-0 loss to newly promoted team Rayo Vallecano. They have also lost their fourth El Clasico in a row, with Real Madrid comfortably winning 2-1 at Camp Nou.
Their performance in the Champions League has not been very encouraging either. The Blaugrana started off with two consecutive 3-0 losses to Bayern Munich and Benfica. They only recently earned their first win against Dynamo Kiev, with Gerard Pique scoring the only goal of their European campaign so far.
Barjuan is only temporarily in charge of Barcelona, and Xavi is expected to take over shortly. The Spaniard is in talks with Barcelona regarding the managerial position right now. However, Barjuan needs to be able to handle the dressing room to make things stable at the very least. Otherwise, Xavi will only face more difficulty to bring stability to such an unsettled squad.
