Microsoft’s Windows 11 brings ample new features and updates to the beloved PC OS. And one of the most interesting updates which Windows 11 brings along with it is a revamped Microsoft Store.

Microsoft as promised is planning to offer more apps and the best experiences from developers to its users. The company had also promised to offer a flexible and transparent commerce model and most importantly, it promised to introduce Android apps on its Microsoft Store.

Yesterday, Microsoft started to introduce Android apps on Windows 11 for Insider testing since the new OS is now available for public use. Microsoft is using Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) to power the Amazon Appstore and its catalog and the WSA is now available across the full spectrum of processor types (AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm).

“What makes Windows, well, Windows is the variety of apps available. We are proud to deliver this experience with our partners – Amazon and Intel – to Beta Channel users in the United States on eligible devices running Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm platforms.”

the latest preview is a new selection of apps and games which were not available on Windows before and this is the first iteration and in this Microsoft’s Insiders will get to experience 50 apps that have been curated for Windows Insiders to test and validate.

“These Android apps and games join our broader catalog, which has everything you are looking for – from core to casual games, sophisticated productivity suites to social experiences, creativity tools to niche hobbyist apps, and developer tools to entire virtualized environments.”

Once insiders decide on which app they want to try then the Amazon Appstore will help you download it and Microsoft also promises that the apps will feel familiar and effortless. With the new Snap Layouts, Apps can be run side by side or pin them to the new Start menu or Taskbar.

You can see notifications from Android apps notifications in the Action Center or share your clipboard between a Windows app and an Android app. We have built the experience with accessibility in mind; many Windows accessibility settings apply to Android apps and we are working with Amazon to deliver more improvements.

Some of the currently available Android apps on Windows 11 include Lords Mobile, June’s Journey, Coin Master, Khan Academy Kids, Lego Duplo World, and others.
