Most expensive Serie A XI in 2021

The Serie A has declined in value over the last few years, with the loss of several top stars to other leagues. However, they still have some of the best talents in the world and they are showcased in the most expensive XI in Italy.

GK: Mike Maignan (AC Milan) €25 million

LB: Theo Hernandez (AC Milan) €50 million

CB: Matthijs De Ligt (Juventus) €70 million

CB: Alessandro Bastoni (Inter Milan) €60 million

RB: Davide Calabria (AC Milan) €25 million

CM: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio) €70 million

CM: Nicolo Barella (Inter Milan) €65 million

LW: Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli) €48 million

RW: Federico Chiesa (Juventus) €70 million

ST: Victor Osimhen (Napoli) €60 million

ST: Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan) €80 million

AC Milan have managed to rebuild their team over the last few years, and almost all of their defensive first choice players have made the most expensive eleven.

Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez have made the cut following their departures this summer. The Argentinian striker is the most expensive player in Serie A right now.

Victor Osimhen and Lorenzo Insigne of Napoli make the list while Milinkovic-Savic stands alone from Lazio. The Serbian midfielder has attracted interest from several top clubs but continues to feature for the capital club.

Juventus no longer have their dominant grip on Italian football, and the only players featuring in the list are Federico Chiesa and Matthijs De Ligt. Chiesa has been remarkable for club and country and will surely have his market value rise as he becomes a better player.
