Juventus women set record for 30 consecutive wins in Serie A

Juventus women have achieved yet another record after defeating Napoli women 2-0 to register 30 consecutive victories in the domestic league. The previous record for the most successive wins was held by Brescia between 2013 and 2014. Their best tally was at 29.

The Bianconere now have one more win than Brescia and will be looking to extend their record further this season.

Napoli barely had a chance to breathe during the opening minutes of the game, as the black and white club fired two goals into the back of the net. The opening goal came 26 seconds into the game, after Caruso headed in Cernoia’s cross to score. Shortly after, Cernoia got onto the scoresheet herself as she tapped in a loose ball, after her initial shot was saved.

Juventus women could’ve had more goals to their name, but some brilliant goalkeeping from Yolanda Aguirre prevented them from scoring any more than two goals in the game. Napoli did not sit back and give up, and they tried hard in the second half to get back into the game.

However, their efforts on goal were not enough to open their account. As a result, Juventus took all three points off of the visitors. The black and white club now gear up to face last season’s Women’s Champions League finalists Chelsea in the middle of the week.
