Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite & Paperwhite Signature Edition launched in India, starts at ₹13,999

Today Amazon has officially launched an all-new Kindle Paperwhite (8GB, Black) and the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (32GB, Black) in India at Rs 13,999 and Rs 17,999, respectively. As of today both of these devices have been made available for pre-order. According to Amazon’s official page, its Kindle Paperwhite will start shipping from October 27 on the other hand the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition will start shipping from November 4.

First, let’s come to the new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a larger 6.8-inch display of 300ppi, and the design is further complemented by smaller 10mm bezels. The display will be offering 10% more brightness at the maximum setting and also comes with an adjustable warm light and a white-on-black mode.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition on the other hand has an auto-adjusting front light which is touted for automatically adjusting to the brightness of the display based on the ambient lighting.

The Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition boast of battery life of 10 weeks which is made possible by the presence of USB Type-C charging. And the battery can be spruced up to 100% in 2.5 hours when using a 10W adapter or larger.

Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition offers wireless charging and can be used with any compatible Qi wireless charger. And the non-signature edition features an IPx8 rating, making it waterproof from accidental drops in water.

On another note, both the devices come with Whispersync and Whispersync for Voice that syncs the last page read, bookmarks, and annotation from Kindle eBooks across all Kindle devices and apps.
