Redmi is working on a phone that is powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC and 120Hz refresh rate

A known tipster has just revealed that Redmi is working on a smartphone, although, this upcoming device will apparently still feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and will offer a 120Hz refresh rate.

According to a Weibo post, from  @数码闲聊站, Redmi is reportedly working on a new handset that features the Snapdragon 870 SoC. Furthermore, the tipster has added that this model will feature a 6.7″ OLED display with an FHD+(2400x1080p) resolution along with a 50MP primary camera on the rear,

While it is unclear on which series this phone would be included in, speculations point towards a new variant in the K40 lineup and it could be called the K40S or might even be a part of the upcoming K50 Series.

The leak also revealed the model number of this smartphone, which is SM8250, unfortunately, finer details with respect to this device are currently unknown and we have no way of confirming if this Redmi device is even in the works.

The tipster believes that this model will be available in the market sometime next year, but take this report with a grain of salt as it is just speculation.
