Xiaomi has again shown what it can do even in the laptop space, make a disrupting move by launching new Mi Notebook Pro and Mi Notebook Ultra laptops. Here we will talk about the more-affordable Mi Notebook Pro laptop, powered by Intel CPUs and promising a substantial level of battery life.

In terms of design, the Mi Notebook Pro borrows almost the same design elements you saw with the Mi Notebook Ultra, featuring a metal unibody design, made up of Aircraft grade Aluminium alloy, which makes it both premium yet very light to carry.

It is also crafted with a microscopic level of detail, made from a 6-series aerospace-grade aluminium alloy that is 1.4 times stronger than a 5-series aluminium alloy. It is just 17.3mm thin and has a weight of only 1.46kg, one of the lightest in the price segment.

Xiaomi says the body of the laptop has a 170 grit sandblasted texture for maximum smoothness across the chassis.

Though it does not have the best display like the Mi Notebook Ultra has but still boasts a 14-inch TrueLife Display with 2.5K (2560 x 1600) Resolution. The display has 215 pixels per inch, also bringing a 16:10 aspect ratio is really helpful for everyday usage.

The Mi Notebook Pro is also very colour accurate, covering 100% sRGB Wide Colour Gamut, also featuring TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light protection that filters blue light without affecting the colour accuracy of the display. On the other hand, the DC dimming ensures minimum flicker resulting in reduced eye fatigue.

In terms of performance, you have no difference between the Mi Notebook Pro and Mi Notebook Ultra, as both of them come with 11th-Generation Tigerlake H35 processors. So, you can choose between the Core i7-11370H and Core i5-11300H processors with 4 cores and 8 threads while sporting up to 4.8GHz boost frequency.

Even though this is a thin & light notebook, the processor can draw up to 35W of power when needed to give you the best performance. Also, you have Intel’s Iris® Xe Graphics that delivers good graphical performance, even better than a dedicated Nvidia MX350 / MX450 graphics.

This comes coupled with up to 16GB high speed 3200MHz dual-channel memory and 512GB NVMe SSD. For thermals, Xiaomi has used a thick 6mm Diameter Heat Pipe and Large Diameter Fan and you can easily switch between Quite & Balanced modes using Fn+K.

Keyboard & Trackpad

As in terms of design, you have a striking similarity with the Mi Notebook Ultra, so in terms of the keyboard too, you get a Scissor Mechanism keyboard that supports 3 Level Backlighting and the keys have a decent 1.3 mm key travel, also you have dedicated macro keys.

Then you have a 62% larger trackpad than Mi NoteBook 14 (2020) and it is really big with support for Windows Precision drivers. Also, you have a Fingerprint scanner built into the power button with support for faster unlocks using Windows Hello.

Connectivity & Ports

Also, in terms of connectivity, you have Dual-band 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.1 options. On the other hand, the laptop has all the ports you could ask for, thanks to Intel, you get the Thunderbolt 4 port which is 8 times faster than USB 3.2 and support charging via the in-box charger.

The benefits of having a Thunderbolt port is endless as you get to experience high-speed connectivity and data transfer technologies with up to 40 Gbps bandwidth. Also, you get another USB Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0, HDMI and 3.5mm audio jack.

Audio & Webcam

For audio, you have 2 x 2W Stereo Speakers, which should be enough and it has support for DTS audio processing app.

It’s good to see Xiaomi has not skipped on the webcam part as it did last time and you have a built-in 720p (HD) webcam where it should be.

Battery Life

The Mi Notebook Pro promises an impressive 11 hours of battery, giving you an all-day battery life experience, which only a few laptops give in this price segment.

Also, you have the 65W USB C charger that can charge your laptop up to 50% Charge in 34 mins.

OS & Software

It comes with a pre-installed Windows 10 Home and Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition 2019 license, also you have Xiaomi’s proprietary Mi SmartShare software as well.

Pricing & Availability

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Ultra has a starting price of 56,999 for the Core i5 11th Gen variant with 8GB RAM + 512GB NVMe SSD and for the variant with 16GB RAM, you have to shell out 59,999.

If you need more power then go for the Core i7 11th Gen variant with 16GB RAM + 512GB NVMe SSD priced at 72,999. The first sale of the notebook will be on 31st August at 12 PM and you can also avail up to ₹4,500 Instant Discount with HDFC Bank Credit Cards & EasyEMI.
