Real Madrid extend Fede Valverde’s contract until 2027

Real Madrid have extended the contract of Fede Valverde until June 2027, adding to the impressive list of extensions that the club have agreed to over the last few weeks.

Thibaut Courtois, Nacho Fernandez, Lucas Vasquez, Dani Carvajal and Karim Benzema have already been offered new deals, and the Uruguayan is the latest to join the list. He is now the player with the longest contract in the first team, having six more years to play out.

His original contract was set to expire in 2025, but Madrid are taking no chances with their players anymore after the departures of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane this summer. They have also included a €1 billion release clause in the player’s contract, like Karim Benzema, which makes it almost impossible for any other club to even consider investing in him anytime in the future.

Valverde has already made 104 appearances for Real Madrid, and has shown outstanding talent considering he is only 23 years old. With Luka Modric entering his final years at Real Madrid and Toni Kroos’ days also numbered, it will not be long before the midfielder inherits a place from the iconic trio.

In the current season, he could still be called on when the options in midfield need to be rotated and fresh energy is needed to shake things up within the game. During his time at Madrid, he has scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists including one against Barcelona, and Madrid fans will be hoping for many more to come.
