Bell Bottom trailer released: All the details about the cast, trailer, and release date

Bell Bottom is an espionage thriller-based movie. It is directed by Ranjit M Tewari and written by Aseem Arora and Parveez Shaikh. The film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani, and its production companies are Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.

Bell Bottom is an upcoming film based on true events, and it is a story of the 1980’s era about some unforgettable heroes. It was the first Bollywood movie that started shooting in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, during which shooting was stopped in India. Its official announcement was made in November 2019 with a release date of Republic Day 2021. But due to the pandemic, its release date has also been postponed.


The trailer of the movie Bell Bottom was released on Tuesday i.e. 3rd August 2021. The trailer looks like an intense hijacking thriller where Akshay Kumar plays the lead role as a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). In a trailer of three and a half minutes, we have seen a short glimpse of the character of Akshay Kumar who is leading the rescue operation and operating under the code name Bellbottom.


The plane got hijacked and landed in Amritsar, it was the seventh hijacking incident in five years that time, he was brought in to save the day. The plane is full of 210 hostages with four hijackers along with them.

The film is set in the 1980s, where Akshay Kumar has to free the passengers of a plane held hostage by terrorists.

Bell Bottom stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Lara Dutta, Denzil Smith, Aniruddh Dave, Adil Hussain, and Thalaivasal Vijay.

Akshay had opened up on the intense shoot for the film while keeping all safety protocols in mind. “It is teamwork and I am grateful to each and every member of the cast and crew from the spot dadas to the light dadas to the technicians to the make-up dadas to my lovely heroines Vaani, Lara, Huma, my director Ranjit and to Vashuji (producer Vasu Bhagnani) and the production team who believed in our audacious plan. The new normal has made us realize a different way of working that none of us could have imagined. I hope this encourages film industries globally to do what they do best and start entertaining audiences again. I hope our shoot during the pandemic reassures others that keeping all safety in mind, it’s time to get things moving again,” he had earlier said in a statement.

Release Date

The Bell Bottom is going to release in theatres worldwide on 19th August 2021. Bellbottom will be among the first few films to release theatrically after the second wave of coronavirus shut down theatres.

Akshay Kumar has wrapped up his shooting for Bell Bottom in October 2020, He has said that Bellbottom is a journey that has “put the Hindi film industry right on the global map.”

While sharing the poster on Instagram in the last year, the actor wrote, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much – this maxim perhaps best describes the ‘Bellbottom’ journey from start to finish. A schedule that began as an impossibility has culminated into a storybook ending that has put the Hindi film industry right on the global map.”

Earlier this year, a few reports suggested that the makers were eyeing an OTT release for the film. However, Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment released a statement quashing the rumor.
