Xiaomi announces recruitment for self-driving car development team

In March of this year, we recall that Xiaomi announced plans to organize the production of fully electric cars under its own brand. The initial investment in this large-scale project should amount to 10 billion yuan, or approximately $ 1.5 billion. We are talking about the development of smart vehicles based on advanced technologies. As Mr. Jun has now announced, the Xiaomi Autonomous Driving Department is planning to recruit 500 experts and engineers. They will have to develop a proprietary autopilot technology for the company’s future electric vehicles.

In addition, Xiaomi is looking for specialists in many other fields. Among them are data processing platforms, control systems, embedded software, high-precision maps, millimeter-wave processing algorithms, image acquisition and analysis, etc. Thus, we can conclude that Xiaomi intends to create its own autopilot system that can compete with the best solutions in the global automotive market.
