Oppo’s much-anticipated Watch 2 Series has been launched as per schedule in China. The Watch 2 Series lineup consists of 3 models, out of which 2 support LTE connectivity. The Watch 2 Series starts at Yuan 1,299(14,867 INR) and will support boot dual OS.
Oppo Watch 2 Series specs and features
The Oppo Watch 2 will feature a design similar to the original Oppo Watch that was released last year. It has a hyperboloid 3D AMOLED flexible display with curved edges and narrow bezels. The screen will come with a 60Hz refresh rate, 326 PPI, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
Users will be able to select from over 100 dials and they will also be able to generate new dials using the AI Outfit 2.0 watch face function. The Oppo Watch 2 Series will have a new kind of strap with a buckle that Oppo has dubbed to be a skin-friendly fluoroelastomer. This material will be breathable and comfortable.
From the 3 variants that the Watch 2 Series will arrive in, 2 of them will have a 42mm dial and the third model has a larger 46mm dial. The 42mm version comes in an eSIM and Bluetooth-only variants, however, the 46mm will only be available in an eSIM variant.
The smartwatch is powered by 2 chips, the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 and the Apollo4s chipset. It also boots dual-OS, ColorOS Watch based on Android and RTOS.
The Oppo Watch 2 series does something that most smartwatches in the market do not do, these devices switch between two chipsets based upon usage. The Watch 2 utilizes the Qualcomm chipset only when it is running any Android app.
Oppo has said that the Watch 2 series will be able to offer up to 4 days of battery life, users can get up to 16 days of battery life when completely switching over to RTOS.
Apart from these features, the Oppo Watch 2 Series offers all the other standard features such as sports modes, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, snore tracking, blood oxygen level monitoring, and more.
The pricing of the Oppo Watch 2 series will be as follows in China:
- Oppo Watch 2 42mm(Bluetooth)- Yuan 1,299(14,867 INR)
- Oppo Watch 2 42mm(eSIM)- Yuan 1,499(17,151 INR)
- Oppo Watch 2 46mm(eSIM)- Yuan 1,999(22,872 INR)
The watches will be available at discounted prices of Yuan 999(11,430 INR), Yuan 1,299(14,863 INR), and Yuan 1,799(20,584 INR) respectively for customers who pre-order. The pre-orders have opened today and will run till August 5th. Sales will commence from August 6th.
Oppo has not yet mentioned the availability of the Watch 2 Series in global markets. It will be releasing globally sooner or later just like Watch 1 did.
