Redmi K40 officially teased with Snapdragon 870 SoC

Redmi’s popular K40 gaming lineup has one device so far, but not for long, It appears that Redmi will release another phone in the K40 lineup. The brand teased a brand new K40 Gaming Edition device on Weibo.

This new version that Redmi teased will supposedly run on the Snapdragon 870 SoC, for reference purposes, the current Redmi K40 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station confirmed in a Weibo post that this new device will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset and that the remainder of the specs will be very similar to the original model.

If this is to be true, the new Redmi K40 is expected to come with a 120Hz AMOLED display, physical shoulder triggers for easier gaming controls, a 64MP main camera sensor along with an 8MP sensor, and a 2MP sensor, and a 5,065mAh battery. It also had a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The upcoming K40 will support 67W fast charging, and hopefully this time Redmi will release it in new colorways. The original Redmi K40 came in Black, Silver, White, and a Bruce Lee Special Edition.
