Google meets bring new features to rival Zoom platform

Google has recently added a new feature for its Google Meet service, making personal calls even more enjoyable than the users. The new update of Google Meet has arrived for Android and iOS and brings filters and masks that users can now play with. Users can tap the sparkling button at the bottom right corner of their video call to bring up the Effects options.

Users can find Blur effects and backgrounds in there similar to that of the enterprise and education accounts; however, the “Styles” and “Filters” are now added as the options in the carousel.

According to reports, Under Styles, we can find the lens flare effects and colour overlays applied to your video. Under the Filters option, there is a fun feature, which allows cute animal masks and virtual accessories which can be virtually put on your face and head.

Google’s new update for its Meet app is now live for its life for Android and iOS devices, and they’re available for use even if you start a meeting through Gmail instead of through the Meet app itself.

According to sources, the several new features that Google has been adding to its Meet app are due to Zoom’s increasing popularity. With these new features, Google is hoping to win over personal users with a feature that might convince the users to shift to its Meet platform for calls with friends and family. It’s also being reported that Google is planning to replace its Duo app with Meet completely eventually.
