Upcoming Smartphones in July 2021

H1 of 2021 is finally over, it was filled with amazing smartphone releases, both flagship devices, and others. We also came across many rumors and leaks of devices that were in the works and would see the light of day in H2 of 2021. OnePlus’ Nord 2 is one of the most anticipated budget devices that will be releasing soon, apart from this, the Huawei P50 and devices for dedicated gamers such as the Realme GT 5G Master Edition and the POCO F3 GT. Take a sneak peek into the most awaited devices scheduled to launch in H2 of 2021 and the specs that they might carry.

1. OnePlus Nord 2

OnePlus launched the Nord series to make a positive mark in the budget smartphone market and did so successfully, now they look to continue it with the release of the OnePlus Nord 2, which is expected to launch in August 2020.

We know that OnePlus has refrained from making any major design changes to the Nord 2, it appears to be mostly similar to the original OnePlus Nord. The Nord 2 is expected to come with a 6.43″ AMOLED display that will have a refresh rate of 90Hz.

OnePlus is sticking to a punch-hole camera in the Nord 2. Apart from this, we can expect a triple-camera setup on the rear with a 50MP main sensor and a fingerprint scanner integrated into the screen.

OnePlus has gone with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset to power the Nord 2. It will come with a fair 4,500mAh battery and will feature OnePlus’ Warp Charge 30T. When it comes to the OS of the Nord 2, we can expect it to feature the signature Oxygen OS based on Android 12 UI out-of-the-box.

2. Redmi 10 Series

The amount of devices that are being inducted into the entry-level and mid-range segments has been increasing the competition in the market and leaving customers spoilt for choice! Xiaomi is looking to take it up a notch with their Xiaomi Redmi 10 Series.

Already available in major markets, the upcoming Redmi 10 series will be something you should be on the lookout for.

We can expect the Redmi 10 Series to be released in a bunch of different versions. A vanilla Redmi 10, a Redmi 10A, and some other versions will be available depending upon the market. Xiaomi has managed to keep the specs of the Redmi 10 Series in the dark, as a result, it just increases our curiosity and excitement as to what the device may feature.

Xiaomi is eyeing a mid-July release date for the Redmi 10 series.

3. Huawei Nova 8i (Launched)

The Huawei Nova 8i has been launched in Malaysia today, what separates the Nova 8i from the other devices is its absurd camera setup. Huawei calls it the camera island. Featuring a quad-camera setup along with the main 64MP sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro unit, this appears to be a steal for photography buffs. It will come with a 16MP selfie shooter.

Huawei has opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 Chipset to power the Nova 8i. It features a 4,300mAh battery with support for 66W fast-charging support. Huawei claims that the device will be able to charge from 0 to 100 in 38 minutes! It will be available in an 8GB RAM+128GB variant and is available in Interstellar blue, Moonlight silver, and Starry black colorways.

Huawei has priced the Nova 8i at $312 or 23,299 INR. It will run on EMUI 11 OS on top of Android 11. Huawei has confirmed that the device will get HarmonyOS updates in the future.

4. Vivo S10

The Vivo S10 has been spotted on multiple certification sites in the past couple of weeks. The successor to the Vivo S9 that came out in China earlier this year, the Vivo S10 was most recently spotted on GeekBench featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC.

It is expected to launch with 12GB RAM and with support for 44W fast charging. Vivo intends to make the camera of the device its highlight. With a 108MP main camera sensor on the rear and additional macro and depth sensors, the Vivo S10 is fully capable of clicking some amazing images. It will also come with a 44MP front camera. Vivo claims that the device charges from 0 to 100 in under 38 minutes.

The Vivo S10 is expected to come out in July.

5. POCO F3 GT

POCO, a brand owned by Xiaomi is looking to launch their POCO F3 GT in India later this month. The device has already been launched in China but the Indian release was delayed.

POCO is looking to introduce the F3 GT in the mid-range segment. The device will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G chipset, a 5,065mAh battery, and dedicated trigger buttons for gaming enthusiasts. The device features a triple camera setup with a main 64MP sensor. It has a 6.67″ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

6. Realme X9/Realme GT 5G Master Edition

Realme is launching the next device in their X series, the Realme X9 smartphone. With an unspecified launch date, rumors point towards a mid-July release.

The Realme X9 series may offer a flagship-like premium experience with mid-range pricing. The X9 could also be paired with a pro version, the Realme X9 Pro. The vanilla Realme X9 is tipped to offer Snapdragon 778G and the Realme X9 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC.

The Realme GT 5G Master Edition is another device that Realme has been teasing a lot lately. Deemed to be a camera-centric device, the Realme GT 5G Master Edition will sport a 108MP triple-camera setup on the rear along with a 6.5″ screen, a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W rapid charging.

Recent rumors had indicated that Realme had collaborated with Kodak to produce a killer camera-centric device. Could the Realme GT 5G Master Edition be the one? Only time will tell.

7. Huawei P50 Series

Huawei’s P50 series has been one of the most anticipated flagship lineups that will launch this month. The Huawei P50 series will feature a vanilla Huawei P50, a P50 Pro, and a P50 Pro+ smartphone.

The P50 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset, however, they have used the 4G variant of the chip. The Chinese variants will come powered with their In-house Kirin 9000 SoC.
