Motorola Edge 20, Edge 20 Pro, Edge 20 Lite are in the works

Motorola made a good comeback in the smartphone sector with the launch of its Motorola Edge+ 5G smartphone that was a resounding success. It had also announced the upper mid-range device in the Edge series. The Motorola Edge S was also revealed in the Chinese markets this year and was released globally as the Moto G100.

A recent leak now sheds some light on Motorola’s future plans. The brand appears to be working on a line of Edge Series smartphones. As reported by reliable tipster Evan Blass, the upcoming Edge Series will be released as the Motorola Edge 20 Series and the names and some specs of the devices have been released as well.

The Motorola Edge 20 models could possibly carry the codenames of Berlin/Berlin NA, Kyoto, and Pstar/Sierra. Blass has revealed that these upcoming smartphones could possibly be released with the monikers Edge 20, Edge 20 Lite and as you can guess, Edge 20 Pro. We may see these devices out as early as the end of this month!

So far all that we know specs-wise is that Motorola Edge 20 is likely to have a global variant codenamed Berlin and a Verizon-bound edition for release in North America with the moniker Berlin NA.

These devices could possibly feature the Snapdragon 778G SoC. The Edge 20 global edition seems to feature a downgraded display and battery but will also carry better cameras in comparison to the North American Edition.

When it comes to the Motorola Edge 20 Lite, it will be a mid-range device that is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset. As the name suggests, it could be the lowest-priced device in the Edge 20 series and will get a global edition that is most likely to be released in India as well.

The most expensive model in this lineup will be the Edge 20 Pro, which is quite possibly the successor to the Edge+ that launched last year. It will be a global release as well considering Motorola intends to launch it across all major markets. However, this device may be powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 888 SoC, which is the best processor out there and usually the go-to when it comes to flagship devices. Nevertheless, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro could feature other killer specs that we are unaware of at present.
