LG Tone Free DFP8W launched with ANC and UV nano cleaning feature

LG is out of the smartphone business but is not yet done producing mobile accessories. The brand’s latest innovation is a pair of truly wireless buds, the LG Tone Free DFP8W.

The LG Tone Free DFP8W has a different aesthetic look to it, in many ways, it appears to be similar to the Oppo Enco W31 TWS buds. Specs-wise the LG Tone Free DFP8W features 8mm dynamic drivers that have been developed by Meridian Audio. The buds have three microphones each, LG says that two of them will be used for calls while one will aid in providing Active Noise Cancellation.

The LG Tone Free DFP8W buds come with Bluetooth 5.2 and can be paired with up to 5 devices. They support Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Windows Swift Pair as well. The buds have an IPX4 rating and support multiple codes such as apt-X, AAC, and SBC.

LG claims that their Tone Free DFP8W will provide for up to 6 hours of battery life with ANC enabled on a single charge. The round charging case will offer up to 14 hours battery along with ANC. With ANC disabled the battery gets bumped up all the way to 24 hours along with the charging case.

The feature that separates the LG Tone Free DFP8W from the rest is their UV nanotech. This feature uses UV light to keep the silicone tips and speaker mesh of the buds clean.

LG intends to release the buds in three colorways of Pearl White, Charcoal Black, and Haze Gold. The LG Tone Free DFP8W is priced at a pricey 180 euros(15,914 INR), but LG has not yet made any information about its availability public yet.
