The E3 2021 Showcase for Microsoft was the Most Viewed in Its History, Though It is Standing Behind Nintendo’s Record

Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s Head of Gaming has posted a tweet yesterday saying that the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 Showcase was the company’s most viewed ever.

“Thank you for a great week, our most viewed E3 ever. We haven’t felt players and the team sharing so much energy and excitement since the 360 era. We’re inspired by the community’s belief in Xbox and we will continue to innovate with players at the center of everything we do.”

That is not so surprising, considering Microsoft’s previous showcases added to the regular Xbox line up an entirely new publisher, Bethesda, which generally used to host its own E3 showcases few times back. This combined showcase has brought some hit titles, for which the whole world was waiting so eagerly. Personally, I was waiting to see Forza Horizon 5 and it came out much impressive in its first look.

Still, as per Barcelona-based gaming and esports live streaming analytics company Stream Hatchet, the E3 2021 showcase of Nintendo registered a much higher peak of viewers with 3.1 million against 2.3 million. That’s across both YouTube Gaming and Twitch.

Though the other conferences were also quite close between each other, while Ubisoft overtook Square Enix by a little margin (1.4 million peak viewers versus 1.3 million viewers) and Developer Digital has registered a 1.1 million figure that’s appreciating for a smaller publisher.
