Upon conducting a survey among HP device users 92% of the respondents stated that they see gaming as a relaxing experience helping them blow off steam and relieving work/study pressure alongside with an immediate effect of stress reduction and developing positive feelings.
While there has been a three-fold increase in the number of users in the past 10 years, the percentage of users viewing gaming as an emerging career option also have increased to a massive 92%.
HP had conducted a survey among 1500 of its users in the majority of the consumers were the youth falling in the range of age 15 to 40 years old in the months of March and April this year across cities all over India.
Further dividing the audience on a gender basis; 72% of the consumers were male while 28% of the consumers were female. Regardless of the divisions all the audience collectively were active mobile and PC users.
Results of the aforementioned survey showed that 84% of the female audience wanted a future in the gaming industry while 80% of the male users felt like gaming was a viable career choice.
With so many gaming and esports competition competition being held every year and the emergence of live gaming streams across social media platforms have encouraged the growth in the percentage of the population wanting to pursue gaming as a career option.
Reports showed 89% of the users prefer PC gaming over mobile gaming while 37% of the mobile gamers wished to switch to PC gaming in search of better qualities and further control in the games.
Ketan Patel, MD of HP India Marketing stated on the matter “In this scenario, the PC has emerged as the preferred device that provides the most comprehensive gaming experience. The shift from mobiles to PCs by gamers clearly represents a massive business opportunity for us.”
