The demand for electric vehicles has been increasing with countries like Denmark, The Netherlands and UK have pledged to stop the sales of petrol and diesel-powered automobiles by 2030. California has also passed legislation to do so by 2035.

Huawei has been vocal about wanting to enter into the automakers’ space, particularly smart electric cars. It has in the past launched hardware and software for other electric car makers and consumers.
