In a rather surprising turn of events, Massimiliano Allegri is set to return to Juventus. The Italian has been out of a job since he was sacked by the Bianconeri, and two seasons later, he is set to return following the allegedly disappointing spells of Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo.
According to reports in the last few weeks, Allegri was holding out for some form of communication from Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane has been officially removed as the manager of the club. And now that Madrid are still taking a lot of time, he has decided to return to Turin.
He was approached by Inter Milan as well, due to Antonio Conte leaving the club as a result of the disastrous financial situation behind the scenes. However, Allegri preferred a return to his former club and the official announcement is expected in the next few days.
Andrea Pirlo will be sacked as the manager of Juventus in the next few days, as Allegri prepares to be restored to his former position. The former Juventus midfielder led the club to the 2021 Coppa Italia trophy, but could not fill in the shoes of his predecessors as his team finished fourth in the league, surrendering their Scudetto winning streak.
This great managerial switcheroo has led to a lot of confusion among fans, as Tottenham was another destination linked with Max Allegri. However, they will have to look elsewhere for their currently vacant position on the bench.
