Google officially started rolling out the public beta of its new OS version Android 12. This announcement has made on the first day of Google I/O 2021. Though a promo video of Android 12 was already leaked earlier, the official video says the same thing. That means the Android 12 will come to all of us with a major interface revamp. Besides, Google also worked on user privacy and security as well.
In Android 12, the entire UI will react to the wallpaper you choose. Based on the color, theme, etc almost everything of the OS including widgets, notification shade, volume controls will convert itself. Thanks to the “Material You” design language behind the scene. Inside the OS, the system animations and quick setting menus are also recreated. Users now can add Google Pay and Home controls to the quick settings menu. The improvements not only reflect on visuals but also in performance, security, and privacy. Google claims smartphones with Android 12 will be smoother, faster, more responsive, and can provide longer battery backup.
Coming to the security and privacy part, where Google added a new dashboard. It contains a timeline of data all the installed applications have accessed. It will help users to revoke unnecessary permissions from them. If any app is accessing your camera, or microphone, or both, the OS will indicate that on the top of the screen. Some applications also take location permissions that you don’t want to share with them. From now and onwards, Android will allow you to provide an approx location.
