Apple’s 2021 iPad Pro is blazingly faster than its previous generation predecessors

When Apple announced that its 2021 iPad Pro model will be powered by the latest Apple M1 silicon, the internet went crazy over the announcement. And now finally the device has made its way on Geekbench.

According to sources, there were nine records on the benchmark site for the M1 iPad Pro and have average scores of 1,712 points for the single-core test and 7,207 points for the multi-core test. When compared with other Apple devices it just goes to see that the Cupertino giant made the right decision to launch M1 Silicon inside its latest tablet generation.

The average scores for the 2020 iPad Pro on Geekbench are 1,121 points (single) and 4,656 points (multi). This clearly states that the average marks of the 2021 iPad Pro are at +52.72% and +54.79% in single and multi-core tests respectively. So looking at the performance number of the M1 Apple Silicon we can state that the 2021 iPad Pro will be +50% faster than last year’s model.

Even though there is a new processor and microarchitecture involved, it’s just remarkable how much the iPad Pro has gained in terms of performance with just being a generation older than its powerful predecessors.

But one of the most interesting facts is that the 2021 Apple iPad Pro’s Geekbench single-core results are currently only a step behind all of the M1 Macs, that includes the MacBook Air (Late 2020), MacBook Pro 13 (Late 2020), and the Mac Mini (Late 2020).

According to sources, the 2021 iPad Pro can outperform a MacBook Pro 16 with Intel Core i9-9980HK or i9-9880H. The 5th Gen iPad Pro starts at US$799 for the 11-inch model and US$1,099 for the 12.9-inch version. Seeing the high-performance numbers of the M1 chip, hopes are beaming high for the upcoming M1X or M2 chip.
