Realme GT Neo vs Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition: Which one is better?

We always try to bring new smartphone comparisons in front of you. This makes it easier to understand the similarities and differences between the devices. On those lines, we bring you a battle between the Realme GT Neo and Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, two recently launched devices.

Display

The Realme GT Neo sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED punch-hole panel whereas the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition flaunts a 6.67″ FHD+ Super AMOLED OLED panel. Both of the smartphones boast to have a high refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Features

The Realme GT Neo is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner while the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition only has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The latter device has robust speakers which offer an amazing listening experience as they are powered by JBL. The former handset offers dual stereo speakers to enhance the listener’s sound experience.

Processor

The Realme GT Neo and Redmi K40 Gaming Edition both are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset which comes with 5G connectivity.

Camera

Talking about optics, the smartphones offer a similar triple rear camera setup that includes a 64 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2 MP sensor as well. For selfies and video chats, we have the same 16 MP camera lens.

Battery and Charging

The Realme GT Neo draws energy from a 4,500 mAH battery cell and is paired with a 50W of fast charging. On the other hand, Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is fueled by a 5,065 mAH battery cell and is supported with an even faster 67W fast charger.

Price

The Realme GT Neo offers you three variants which are the following:

  • 6 GB + 128 GB: ¥ 1799 or approximately Rs 20,000
  • 8 GB + 128 GB: ¥ 1999 or approximately Rs 22,000
  • 8 GB + 256 GB: ¥ 2299 or approximately Rs 25,000

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition comes in a number of variants with different prices. These are:

  • 6 GB + 128 GB: ¥ 1999 or approximately $ 308
  • 8 GB + 128 GB: ¥ 2199 or approximately $ 339
  • 8 GB + 256 GB: ¥ 2399 or approximately $ 370
  • 12 GB + 128 GB: ¥ 2399 or approximately $ 370
  • 12 GB + 256 GB: ¥ 2699 or approximately $ 416

Our Thoughts

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition packs a larger display and a more powerful battery than the Realme GT Neo smartphone. This gives an edge to the users of the former device. The camera and processor domain is almost but same for both so not much to distinguish between them.

The Realme GT Neo has an in-display fingerprint but the gaming smartphone does not have this feature which is a bit surprising. As the battery aspect is clearly dominated by the Redmi K40 Gaming, we might opt for it. Make your own decisions depending on what features you prefer and let us know as well!
