Epic Games has recently released a Fortnite update for the Nintendo Switch, and as per their latest statement, they are upgrading the renderer on the Nintendo Switch to make better use of the console’s GPU.

Due to this, Nintendo Switch gamers can enjoy improved resolution both in handheld and docked modes, this makes gaming less blurry, without loss of performance. Not only this, Epic Games also promises of more consistent framerate, with fewer hitches, resulting in a smoother experience overall.

Here’s the official statement:

  • Fortnite on Switch will still use dynamic resolution when needed to ensure a consistent framerate, but this will occur less frequently, and overall resolution will be significantly higher.

Expected Resolutions

  Expected ResolutionsBeforeAfter
Handheld    1000×560    1170×660
Docked    1390×780    1560×880
