Juventus sticking with Ronaldo and Pirlo for the future

Juventus were knocked out of the Champions League against Porto with the Portuguese outfit progressing on goal difference. This has led to questions being asked of the future of the Italian Champions, and more importantly, of Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

Ronaldo is being paid €32 million after taxes per season Juventus, which is a hefty investment in the current financial market. They are going to continue with Andrea Pirlo for the next season and are already planning to change their squad.

The Bianconeri have players like Chiellini and Buffon who are nearing the end of the cycle and need replacing. It won’t be easy for the still novice manager, with the Scudetto situation as well but they are still planning for the future.

They are planning to start something new. Weston McKennie signed a new permanent deal with the club, and Chiesa alongside De Ligt are two of the brightest young talents in the squad. Chiesa was on Manchester United’s list a year ago but he didn’t want to leave Italy and didn’t want a move to foreign clubs. He pushed for a move to Juventus alongside AC Milan and potentially Inter, but ended up being signed by the reigning champions.

Cristiano still has another year of contract and they are planning to go on with their partnership. He is beyond angry and is very disappointed with another Champions League exit in March.

Fabio Paratici, the director of the club has stated that it’s not an issue, and that they will discuss his situation in the coming months. Fabrizio Romano pointed out that he idn’t say it was a priority. A statement like this will surely lead to talks about his future, but the Portuguese’s situation at Juventus is very different from Messi at Barca.

Juventus don’t want to keep anyone who doesn’t want to stay. Ronaldo hasn’t said anything yet about his future at the club either. They haven’t received anything from any clubs, and it is also worth noting that there are not many who can afford him. Hence, for the foreseeable future, Ronaldo moving away from Juventus is not a possibility.
