Liverpool have no plans to part with Jürgen Klopp; contract extensions in the works

Despite Liverpool’s recent troubles on the pitch, Jürgen Klopp was under no pressure or threat of being sacked. He wasn’t about planning on leaving the club either. The news linking the German to a step down from the job at Anfield has been labeled fake news about sacking him by Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on the Here We Go podcast.

Liverpool has been on a difficult stretch in the Premier League, and it all started off when they lost their unbeaten streak at home to Burnley in a 1-0 defeat. Since then, the Merseysiders have lost 5 of their last 8 games, with defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion, Southampton, and Manchester City along with the one to the Clarets.

The last three matches at Anfield have all ended in shocking results, with the reigning Champions losing all three fixtures against Burnley, Manchester City, and Brighton.

Everybody around Liverpool wants to keep him and has a lot of faith in him to be content at the club and lead them forward. Fabinho and Van Dijk are in talks to extend their respective contracts at the club. And then, once the contracts of the two defenders are agreed upon, the Merseyside club will look towards the extension of Mo Salah.

Extending contracts is very important for every club since in this market, it is almost like signing a brand new player with the finances being so heavily affected across all platforms.

Liverpool did manage to pick out the start of a silver lining in their Champions League victory against Leipzig in the first leg, with the second leg yet to be contested.
