Former OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei, unveils its new brand “Nothing”

A week back, we at TechnoSports informed you that Carl Pei will be revealing his new brand on 27th January 2021. We also told you about the grand giveaway of 10 units of the new Apple M1-powered Macbook Air by the former director of OnePlus Global. You can find it here

Carl Pei cofounded OnePlus which is one of the biggest brands in the smartphone market currently. He left the company in October last year to start his own venture. Now, we know much more than earlier about his new startup and that’s what we are going to discuss here.

Carl Pei’s new venture will be named “Nothing”. Yes, you read it right, that’s the name of his company. “Nothing” is will be based in London and will be a ‘consumer technology’ company. The investors of this new start-up are YouTuber Casey Neistat, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, Kevin Lin (the cofounder of Twitch) and the iPod inventor Tony Fadell. Carl Pei wants to decrease the distance between people and technology. His aim, through ‘Nothing’, is to create an ecosystem that can help people to grow with technology. It is still unknown what kind of products will the company sell. But their products are soon going to hit the market.

The company stated that by the first half of 2021, we will be seeing their “smart devices” in the market. Carl Pei didn’t even mention that who is going to be the competitors of his company. It is believed that the company might start by manufacturing headphones. Eventually, they will shift to create a whole ecosystem of music products and services. Let’s wait and see what Carl Pei can bring to us very soon!
