MIVI COLLAR 2 Review: Push the Limits within budget

MIVI is one of the few Indian brands that manufactures all its products in India. As an advantage, the company knows what exactly Indians can demand from them and always trying to provide that. To be specific, it is providing good quality audio products along with other accessories at affordable price tags. The MIVI Collar 2 wireless neckband is a fresh example.

It is dropped to the market on 13th January and costs just Rs. 1,399. On top of that, there are six color options. The MIVI Collar 2 is available on MIVI’s official website along with other e-commerce platforms. Before you order, just go through my experience once and crosscheck your limits.

Design & Build Quality :-

The new MIVI Collar 2 wireless neckband is made up of a bit hard yet enough flexible and comfortable silicon. It’s most of the part, the rest of it, the earbuds, and the end of the band are covered with plastic which helps to reduce its overall weight. Considering the price, the overall build quality is okesh.

However, the design is very sleek to hide under your cooler if needed, and the weight is lighter than I expected. Thanks to the good quality plastic. If you think the company compromises with the build quality by using plastic, not at all. It is still able to resist sweat and dust. The magnets in the earbuds can help themselves to remain tangle-free.

There is a multifunction power button in the left arm of the MIVI Collar 2, along with the volume up/down button and a hidden LED. A MicroUSB charging port has placed the same arm’s end, which is a minor thing but convenient to me. It’s easy to put the neckband on charge over the other.

Comfort & Usage :-

As I mentioned earlier, the silicon material is hard yet enough flexible and comfortable. The weight is meager too. That means you can wear it for a long time period without any hesitation. The earbuds also fit in my ears securely, and I never feel any pain or uneasiness after continuously using them for over four hours.

The multifunction button and the volume up/down bar are there through which you can easily reject or receive your calls, keep a call on hold and take another one, switch between calls, redial the last number, wake up voice assistants, manage media contents, adjust volume, and much more. All three buttons, mainly the multifunction button, need to be more clicky. You have to press the buttons very hard each time to operate media or calls. Otherwise, all parts are good enough.

Audio Quality :-

If you are well aware of the audio market, probably know, you hardly get a satisfactory earphone at less than Rs.1,500. But the MIVI Collar 2 is one of the few exceptions. You can say, all the on-paper claims of MIVI regarding audio is true. The 10mm audio driver inside produces a great quality stereo audio output blending powerful bass to it. Under a certain volume level, around 60%, you surely get a percent listening experience that can easily challenge other audio products costs just double.

MIVI Collar 2 - 3_TechnoSports.co.in

I don’t have any complaints about the calling experience. MIVI claims there is MEMS Mic for crystal clear calls, however, my experience is as per expectation. The microphone works well. There is no noise cancellation or such technology, which is usually expected at Rs.1,399.

Note, avoid using this headphone at 100% volume as this can damage your ears in the long run. Though, it applies to all.

Battery Backup :-

The MIVI Collar 2 carries a 500mAh battery inside that powers for up to 17 hours on-paper at 70% volume. In the practical field, I get around 12 hours of backup, which is good enough. I used the earphone at 80% volume most of the time and also tried dual pairing mode during the last two hours. To recharge the earphone takes around 40 minutes as per the claim. The LED will indicate that by turning in blue.

This neckband also has a fast-charging feature. In rush hours just charge for 10 minutes to go for around 10 hours.

Connectivity :-

MIVI added Bluetooth 5.0 to take care of the connectivity part. The Bluetooth version is not that surprising, the main thing that will surprise you is the dual pairing mode. It manages to switch from one device to another almost instantly. There is no latency and the connectivity retains from around 12 feet of distance, even more than that some times if the pillars or other obstacles are less.

Pros & Cons :-

ProsCons
Better than expected audio qulaityMicroUSB Charging port
Solid BassTolerable build quality
Dual pairingNo noise cancellation
Fast Charging
Light weight
Low cost

Verdict :-

If you observe properly, the MIVI Collar 2 comes with all the necessary features that fulfill an audio lover’s demand and can’t afford a premium earphone. It costs just Rs.1,399 and has excellent audio quality, some premium features that actually work, a good battery life, and more. Besides, there are six different color options to choose from.

MIVI is doing a great job and on the right track with the affordable audio products and accessories where hardly a thing is compromised. Waiting for more examples like MIVI Coller 2 in the coming days.
