List of smartphones expected to feature LTPO displays this year: Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung, Oppo

Starting from LCD, then AMOLED, OLED, QLED to LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) displays we’ve come a long way. The LTPO display is said to be the current sensation of 2021 in terms of smartphones’ display panels. The premium and flagship smartphones of 2021 will feature the LTPO displays. One of the main advantages of this kind of display is that it has some serious battery-saving properties. Recently launched the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has this LTPO QHD+ AMOLED display of 6.8-inch having an adaptive refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz (1500 nits of peak brightness).

Like the S21 Ultra, most of the other flagship smartphones will have this kind of adaptive refresh rate display which means when you’re doing normal day-to-day works (such as reading articles), it will feature a lower refresh rate. But when, you’re doing any faster thing, such as playing games, the refresh rate will be increased up to 120Hz and provide you an ultimate smooth gaming experience.

The renowned display analyst Ross Young has provided a list of shortlisted smartphones that will be launched (or launched) in 2021 and will have or might turn up with an LTPO display. The names of the flagship smartphones are as follows:

As per some recent rumors, Apple’s next series of 2021 could be “iPhone 12s”, not an iPhone 13 lineup. So, the Pro and Pro Max variants of the iPhone 12s series might feature the LTPO displays with an adaptive refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz. On the other hand, the regular models of that series will have normal 60Hz displays.
